► OSHA Increases Maximum Penalties and Announces Significant New Enforcement Policies
Did you know that in addition to raising the penalty rate to $15,625 per violation (up from $14,502), OSHA has provided new guidance for inspectors to do Instance-by-Instance (IBI) citations for violations? This means that instead of one blanket penalty for a violation, non-compliant businesses will be cited for each instance of the violation throughout the worksite, with the potential for much higher fines overall. Taken together with the 19% increase in OSHA inspectors in 2022, these new guidelines only add to the urgency for EHS professionals to ensure their safety programs are OSHA-ready.
